Every member of our team was finally present when all the designers got together over a common lunch block to share our initial concepts for our individual sections and for the website as a whole.
The sections took turns presenting the color schemes, fonts, themes, and ideas they want throughout the website, and each also presented their own refined sketches. Although we had all worked with the same architecture and general ideas for the website, each team brought the sections to life in their own way and added in elements of their personalities. This resulted in a multitude of different possible directions that the website could go in.
The Shipwreck team presented many different options for what the opening of the section could be. Each of them drew a ship from a different era, changing the vibe of the section entirely as the ships went from wood to steel.
The Cave team proposed numerous games as well as possible opening pages. The changes in the perspective of the cave within each refined sketch gave the rest of the team many options to consider.
The Menu team used characters from the entire website to connect the different sections and proposed adding additional animations to the menu page. Also, they found creative ways to divide the menu into different categorical subpages.
The designers working on the opener and homepage used many ideas from the inspiration boards in their proposals. The fantastical elements of Katie’s board inspired an opener featuring a carriage and a homepage with a majestic castle.
It was really nice for our team to meet over pizza and to see what all the members of our class have been working on.
