Prototyping Phase One

After we received our 3D CAD drawings from the Drafting Program, the team began working on building preliminary prototypes of our four proposed designs. The models are scaled down to a quarter of the final product’s size.

We traced the printed digital drawings onto corrugated cardboard and cut them out using X-Acto knives. We then assembled the various corrugated cardboard parts using glue.

Through constructive critique and collaboration from each member, the group has been working hard to fabricate and refine all the prototypes for the past two weeks. The next phase is to create full-scale models in order to get a realistic view of how the prototype will fit into its environment.
